Love Etta James her work and her indominable spirt...but it pisses me off to always hear how so many Black Jazz and R&B artists were exploited and cheated out of royalties and the "Big Time" Money. Whyte exploitation of Black artists seems to pervade all their careers. Yes, some artists were "pound foolish" and irresponsible with their bread and fame...but that's not point for me hre. Rather, give people what they are OWED for their Labour and Intellectual Property. It appears Black artists never own the the rights to their Cultural production.
